OVERVIEW

Whistler's lies in the breathtaking Canadian Rocky mountains. The ski resort of Whistler is split by 2 mountains, Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain. The Peak 2 Peak gondola connects the 2 mountain areas together and makes a huge ski area of 8,171 acres. Whistler enjoys an average yearly snowfall of 12m with the winter season running from mid November to the end of May.

The 2010 Winter Olympics held in Whistler enabled the resort to install a modern and updated lift system. This transformed the ski resort into a European vibe whilst retaining its original identity. As a result Whistler has become a much sort after ski resort and popular with skiers and non-skiers alike.

Whistler is divided into several areas including accommodation and facilities outside the main Whistler Village area such as the Marketplace and North Village sectors.

Whistler Village

The main resort hub is situated in Whistler Village. It's car free, so enables you to wander between the coffee shops, restaurants and many varied shops and grab a drink for apres ski off the slopes.

Upper Village

Upper Village lies at the base of Blackcomb mountain, connected by a free bus ride or a 10 minute walk from the car free Whistler Village. The modern wizard and magic chair lifts make this a fantastic place to ski. Most condos are ski in, ski out and two main luxury hotels, including the Fairmont Chateau Whistler are located here. You are close to the action whilst feeling the alpine seclusion. There are plenty of restaurants and even the weekly farmers market is held in this area.

Function Junction

Function Junction is a 10 minute drive from Whistler Village. Full of community spirit and sport and an up and coming area with an artistic edge.

Blueberry Hill

Is a prestigious neighbourhood offering breathtaking panoramic views of Whistler. Located near Creekside, it is only a 5 minute walk to Creekside’s town centre and gondola, which gives visitors convenient access to shops, restaurants and of course the slopes.

Nicklaus North

A 5 minute drive north of the main village boasts serene alpine and lake vistas. Access to Whistler’s mountain lifts requires a 5 minute drive, however over 15 miles of country skiing trails are right at the doorstep of Nicklaus North.

Alpine Meadows

Alpine Meadows, a five minute drive from the main Whistler Village is a tranquil neighbourhood with a small market and sports complex with a swimming pool and ice rink.

Creekside

For a quieter location you could choose Creekside. From here you can ski straight onto Whistler Mountain.
